Square dish

One of a set of four shaped square dishes with molded rims and an engraved crest in the center. Engraved with FC and stamped with CV on the underside of therim.

Marks

Maker's Mark: a crowned fleur-de-lis, two grains, NCV, a pearl (Nocq, p.82). Warden's Mark: there is none, but one of its mates has the mark for 1757-1758, a crowned R (Dennis, 36). Charge mark: for large work, 1756-1762: a crowned A (Dennis, 332). Discharge Mark: probably the mark for large work, 1756-1762: a woman's head (Dennis, 36).
