Serving Spoon

The forged spoon has a shallow oval bowl and a long plain stem with an engraved feather edge. The bowl has been crudely repaired and the stem has been broken and soldered at the midsection.

Inscription

Engraved on end of stem in monogram, "WAC"; engraved on back of stem "Prince of Wales Coffee House / 61".

Marks

On back of stem, maker's mark TC with a W above and a C below (Grimwade 3817); lion passant; leopard's head crowned; date letter possibly k or p.

Anonymous Gift to the MFA in Memory of Charlotte Beebe Wilbour (1833-1914). (Accession Date: March 2, 1933).
