The baluster body has a slightly flaring rim and a shaped triangular pouring spout. The body is raised from sheet, and the cylindrical mount for the wooden handle, at a right angle to the spout, is formed from seamed sheet. The body has been rehammered.

Inscription

ARMORIALS: engraved on side, the arms of Hooker, alias Vowell, or Downing, co. Essex, possibly with Hillary, co. Norfolk, Masculer, or Berge in pretence. INSCRIPTIONS: on underside, engraved 5=3

On underside of pan, maker's mark FL (Grimwade 694, see note); lion's head erased; Britannia; date letter K
