Salver

The shaped circular salver is constructed from sheet with a raised rim and an applied cast gadrooned border. The salver rests on three hoof feet, each cast in two pieces. One foot has been repaired.

Inscription

ARMORIALS: engraved in center of each, the arms of Dromore impaling Newcome, for the Most Rev. WIlliam Newcome DD, Archbishop of Armagh and Lord Primate of All Ireland, (1729-1800) who married first Maria, daughter of Sir Thomas D'Oyley Baronet, married second, Anna Maria daughter and co-heir of Edward Smyth Esq, of Callow Hill, co. Fermanagh. INSCRIPTIONS: engraved on underside, 24=7 pr.

On underside of each rim, Hibernia; maker's mark WH (Bernnett p. 179, no. 546); harp crowned.
