Dombrovsky Collection, near Venice [see note 1]. By 1972, acquired in Italy by Dr. Kurt Rossacher (b. 1918 - d. 1988), Salzburg; 1973, sold by Rossacher to the MFA. (Accession Date: February 14, 1973) NOTES: [1] According to a letter from Dr. Rossacher (May 7, 1973; in MFA curatorial file) the painting was acquired in Italy; Dr. Rossacher was told by the (unnamed) seller of the painting that it had been in the Dombrovsky collection near Venice.
