Oval dish

One of a set of three shaped oval dishes with a shallow center depression and a molded rim. A mostly erased crest is engraved on one long side.


Maker's Mark: a crowned fleur-de-lis, two grains, TG, an obliterated letter, Probably an F, making it Francois Thomas Germain's small mark (Dennis, 151). Charge Mark: 1756-1762: a crowned A (Dennis, 150). Other: a small oval with letters inside; a small rectangle; St. Petersburg mark: "Beschauzeichen etwa" 1761(?) (Rosenberg 8142); Two Cyrillic letters, a grain betweeen, in a rectangle; a 9 in a rectangle; an 0 in a rectangle, both possibly Russian standard marks (Tardy, p. 265).
