Oval dish

A shaped oval dish, with a molded rim. There is a trace of a monogram on the rim, below the molding.


Warden's Mark: 1765-1766: a crowned B, Incomplete (Dennis, 73). Discharge Mark: for large work, 1762-1768: a rose (Dennis, 73). Other: Probably the discharge mark for small work, 1783-1786; a peasant's head (Dennis, 66); mark of "recense" used after November 9, 1797 to mark works with the marks of the old regime: a head (Tardy, p. 165); Guarantee mark used after 1838 for small work: a small boar's head (Tardy, p. 173); A bird's head, possibly an eagle's head: Garantie-Marken fur MitterArbeiten" (Rosenberg, 5894).
