Provenance

Shrewsbury family, England (?) [see note 1]. 1964, Premsela and Hamburger, Amsterdam; 1964, sold by Premsela and Hamburger to the MFA. (Accession Date: September 23, 1964) NOTES: [1] According to information provided by Premsela and Hamburger, the casket belonged to "Lord Talbot, one of the judges at the Trial of Joan of Arc" and was passed on by descent within the family to the Shrewsburys until a few years before the MFA acquired it.
