Lamp

Fluted base with band of carved grapes and leaves. Above it, a ball on which stands a dancing girl holding the body of the lamp in her left hand. The lamp has four beaks in the form of female heads, a fluted bottom and top surmounted by a vase of flowers [now lost].

Marks

Struck on oil recipient and inside rim of lid: winged scroll (ill. Rosenberg IV, no. 7488); globe within star border, within octagon (Venetian guild mark for .800 silver); a third mark, illegible, within circular punch.
