Marks

Maker's Mark: no mark, but Christie's attributes it to Guillame Vealle. Warden's Mark: 1736-1737: a crowned V (Dennis, 165). Discharge Mark: for small work,1732-1738: a dog's head (Dennis, 165). Other: Two illegible marks on the base , one on the handle; LHF; Countermark used after 1838: parts of insects (Rosenberg, 5929); a B on the handle; Guarantee mark used after 1838: a small boar'shead (Tardy, p. 173); a man's head in a rounded rectangle, possibly Tardy, p. 169: "Poincons de titre, Departements .800".
