Struck on reverses with hallmarks (leopard's head, lion passant, date letter for 1734-5) and with maker's mark of Paul Crespin.
Probably made for Richard Edgcumbe, Baron Mount Edgcumbe (b. 1680 - d. 1758), Cornwall; after his death, by descent to Richard, Earl of Mount Edgcumbe (1720-95). About 1970, with Lord Sieff.
