Circular dish

One from a pair of large shaped circular dishes with reeded rims and a shallowcenter depression. Engraved with a doubleheaded eagle with a crown, a shield, an orb, and a scepter(?); the Russian Imperial arms.

Inscription

Maker's Mark: Illegible, dishes are similar in design to 1993.471.1-24, a set of dinner plates by Edme -Pierre Balzac. Warden's Mark: for 1771-1772: a crowned H (Dennis, 38). Charge Mark: for large work 1768-1775: a crowned A (Dennis,38). Other: guarantee mark for paris used after 1838, a small crab (Tardy, p. 173); St. Petersburg marks: "Beschauzelchen etwa" possibly 1784 (Rosenberg, 8143); HM, a grain between in a rectangle; an 8 in a square, a 6 or a 9 in a square, (possibly Russian standard marks, see Tardy, p. 265).
