Inscription

ARMORIALS: engraved on each base and waxpan, an unidentified crest, (out of a ducal coronet an elephant's head), apparently later, replacing previous engraving. INSCRIPTIONS: engraved on underside, No. 2, 19=2; on the bezel of waxpan , No2.

Marks

One mark under corner of each base, maker's mark GW (similar to Grimwade 927); lion passant; leopard's head crowned; date letter h.
