The underside of the base is inscribed "Joao de Lemos".


Maker's Mark: a crowned fleur-de-lis, two grains, TG, a fleece (Dennis, 165). Warden's Mark: 1734-1735: a crowned S (Dennis, 133). Charge Mark: 1732-1738: acrowned A (Dennis, 165). Discharge Mark: for works intended for export, 1733( ?)-1775: a little cow (Dennis, 125). The Maker's mark is on the inner rim of the base only, the Warden's and Charge marks are on the inner rim and the underside of the base. The Discharge mark is on the outer rim of the base.
