One of a set of four candlesticks. Cast, with molded, welled octagonal bases rising to octagonal baluster stem and knop. Stem terminates in a campana nozzle.


Engraved crest in well depicts a hand holding three flowers.


Maker's Mark: a crowned fleur-de-lis, two grains, TM, an undeciphered device between. Christie's says that the mark is that of Martin, making the device a vase or an urn. It is described but not illustrated in Nocq, p.206. Warden's Mark: 1702-1703: a crowned I, also not illustrated but similar in form to the previous and following year's Warden's marks. Charge Mark: 1697-1704: an A with a scepter and hand of justice (Dennis, 79). Other: mark for old work 1798(?): a hatchet (Tardy, p.166).
