Dagger

Start collecting

Dagger blade (wide near hilt and inwardly curved to thin point) with four rivets in place. Mounted with a lunate ivory pommel, three rivets in place and grooved for attatching to handle/hilt, split in half. Fragment of handle/hilt of wood with two rivets.

Provenance

From Nubia, Kerma, KB80 #5. 1915: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
