Cup and saucer (Lyric design)

Circular cup with simple, biomorphic design incised on exterior, and given black and white slip decoration. Saucer glazed black.

Marks

Cup is bears a brown glaze-stamped mark on base: "Stangl / POTTERY / TRENTON, N.J." in an ellipse. Initial "R" added in black slip. Saucer bears a brown glaze-stamped mark on base: "Stangl / POTTERY / TRENTON, N.J." with four lines above the ellipse, indicating the year 1954. All in within an ellipse underneath saucer. Marked "m" in black slip near the mark.
