Engage your students with the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, to illustrate themes and concepts in any discipline.

Cultural Conflux in Ceramics

Students examine historical contexts, social norms and construction/design choices in ceramic artwork across time and across historic civilizations to develop an understanding of how the values of society as a whole can influence the decisions of a ceramicist.

Students will learn that through observing and discussing artworks in museums, they can uncover knowledge in historical contexts and examine motivations that inspire ceramic creation.
