CRLS Ceramics at the MFA

This gallery functions as a survey of ceramics across civilizations for high school Ceramics I and Advanced Ceramics students. The teacher will lead students in a slide show presentation and discussion of the work the day before students visit the museum. Classes will also look at a map of the floor plan and a palette of prompts in "museum journals" for student reflection. The day of the trip, students will have the opportunity to thoughtfully observe and reflect on various ceramic forms and techniques as they move freely about the museum. The following class day, students will identify the piece that resonated with them most deeply, and attempt to translate the form, technique, or decoration into a vessel of their own.
