Cornice fragment from the tomb of Shensetji

Limestone cornice fragment from the tomb of Shensetji in part of a family mastaba. Inscribed hieroglyphs form the word for "cloths/clothing" (Hbsw) or related. One of eight fragments (see 98.1033a-d, f-h). For other objects from the same family mastaba, see also: 98.1031, 98.1032.


From Dendara, tomb of Shensetji (family mastaba; tomb 770). 1898: excavated by William Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund; assigned to the Egypt Exploration Fund in the division of finds by the government of Egypt; presented to the MFA at the general meeting of the EEF.
