Copley's Couples Portraits of Spouses in the American Collection

Many of Copley's portraits were of couples. In studying history, teachers and students often overlook the family aspects of famous figures, focusing instead only on the prominent figure. For students to see the connections behind the textbooks and encyclopedias may take some of the "boring" and dry aspects away from the study of history.
