Both are from exhibitions - "Exposicion Domenico Gnoli," Madrid: Fundacion Caja de Pensiones, cat. no. 8 (label dates the work to 1965) and "Forma y Figuracion" at the Guggenheim Bilbao, 1998]


The artist; with Galerie Jan Krugier, Geneva, Switzerland. By 1990, with Melvin N. Blake (b. 1927 - d. 1999) and Frank M. Purnell (b. 1930 - d. 1994), New York; gift of the estate of Melvin Blake to MFA, Boston, January 22, 2003 -Mimi Gnoli noted, "I imagine it 'belonged' to Krugier until it was sold in 1973 (or were they in business with??) to the Galerie Isy Brashot, Paris/Brussels). From then on I know nothing about it, except that in the Madrid show the catalogue says private collection, N.Y." -Sent a letter to Galerie Jan Krugier, Ditesheim & Cie on April 20, 2004 to confirm provenance, but did not receive anything from them.
