The Colonial tour will offer the chance to the students to explore the earliest art of the Americas. Portraits, furniture, silver and gold tell stories about life in the pre-Columbian era, colonial North America, and the new nation. Studio: Clay was used by both the Native Americans and the Colonists to make practical but beautiful objects. Among these were vessels to carry water, store food, etc. Both cultures developed certain images for decoration, though they differed in their designs and symbols. In this exploration, students choose a style of the Native Americans or the early colonists and build an object with clay.
