Act It Out
There are many situations described within our story, How the Raven Stole the Sun, such as the Grandfather’s daughter walking by the creek or the Raven trying to escape from the cabin. In this activity participants will be asked to write down on a slip of paper a brief description of a situation from the story that was especially memorable to them. These slips of paper will be placed in a jar and each person will pull one out and act out the situation and the group will try to guess which one they are portraying – much like a game of charades. By engaging in this kind of hands-on activity, participants are creating your own learning and deepening their level of understanding about the story and its embedded themes.
