Class Description: What Makes a Museum?

Explore the Museum: walk through the galleries, notice what’s included in them besides just the artwork, and perceive how individual galleries differ from one another.

Pre-Tour Group Activity: 

Discussion topic: What is a collection? What kinds of things do you collect? How do you arrange them?

Art Activity: Curate using tiny drawings or image cutouts from magazines and auction catalogues. 

Follow-up Activity: Make a post card or poster that advertises the gallery exhibition you curated.
