Class Description: What Makes a Museum?

Search for and briefly interview museum staff in various different sections of the Museum (ie. visitor services, security guards, staff members, etc.)

 

MFA Connections:

talking to Protective Services, visiting Sharf and talking to Visitor Services, learning about Conservation in Actions galleries, acquisition in Behind the Scenes galleries, Liliana Porter mural

Pre-tour group activity:

Make a list of questions: What would we like to know about how museums work?

Art Activity: Build your own museum!

 

Follow-up activity:

Design a map for the museum you made. What should a museum map include?
