Look at still life paintings and drawings from around the museum, then work on a drawing of your own!

MFA Connections:

Dutch gallery, “Vase of Flowers in a Niche” by Jan van Juysum, trompe d’oeil paintings (gallery 238), Impressionist still lives

Art-making activity:

Drawing from a still life set-up in studio.

Pre-tour group activity:

Make a view finder.

Follow-up activity:

Find an object at home. Look at it in the day, at night, in light and in shadow. Can you draw it in the morning? What about at night?
