By date unknown in the late 1970s or early 1980s: according to the warranty from Christian Niederhuber of Numisart GmbH in the object folder for this piece the bowl was said to have been bought by an anonymous German private collector from Kunsthandel Axel Weber, Cologne, Germany in the late 1970s or early 1980s; in 2002 or 2003: bought by Christian Niederhuber from the anonymous German private collector; in mid-2004: with Numisart GmbH, Maximiliansplatz 15, 80333 Munich, Germany; purchased by MFA frm Numisart GmbH with funds donated by Shelby White, March 23, 2005
