This is one of at least thirteen small bowls excavated together. It is the only complete one of the group; the rest are in fragmentary condition (and unlocated). Red brown ware, straw marked, red wash.

From Meroe, W 453. 1923: excavated by the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan.
