Beaker with red washed rim

Start collecting

This beaker is fashioned of a light redware clay fabric. It has a rounded base and slightly convex sides. The rim is slightly everted. The rim has been treated (dipped) with a red wash that has run down onto the sides rather sloppily on both the interior and exterior. It is intact.

From Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, Building B 1200, Room 1203. 1919: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan. (Accession Date: August 23, 2006)
