Reverse: at top, in gurmukhi (Punjabi script, different from Takri): 14 pachhajadi (corruption of padshazadi=princess) todi. Collector's seal, in Persian: qamrud-din ghulam-i muhi-ud-din, AH 1155 "Slave of muhi-ud-din." Date equivalent to circa 1742, probably date of inventory.

Provenance

English notation on the reverse of the painting indicates that it was purchased in Bombay on 2/4 of 1913 for 45 Rupees. Given to the MFA by Denman Waldo Ross in 1915.
