Provenance

Originally at the Hachiman Shrine in Wakasa Province (now Fukui Prefecture). During the Edo period belonged to the Sakai family; 1923 sold at the Tokyo Art Club by Sakai Tadatae to Toda Yashichi the 2nd (1867-1930); 1932 Toda's son, Yashichi the 3rd (Toda Rosui, 1892-1942) sold the scroll to the MFA through Yamanaka & Company.
