Obverse: in Devanagari, words on various elements of the painting (to be read). Reverse: on top, in Devanagari, 4 line inscription (AKC translation), Bahadur Shah seal in English; on Reverse of original (shimmering through) - various short inscriptions (to be read).

Provenance

Purchased in India by Ananda Coomaraswamy prior to 1916. Purchased by Denman Waldo Ross in 1917. Given to the MFA in 1917.
