The book by the author and naval officer Kimura Kokichi was scheduled to be published in February 1896 but was suppressed because of the realism of the text and the illustrations--the cruel aspects of the war were not considered appropriate for public consumption.

Provenance

Various dealers: primarily in London and Tokyo. Purchased between 1985-1999.
