Artist's seal: Kötö no in Description after the title: "Kurita, the head of the division of the warship Shikishima was one of the seventy-seven men selected to be part of our death-defying squad. Acting as the engineer of the crew of [the blockade ship] Hokokumaru, Kurita scooped out the water of the rolling waves which flooded the [row]boat."
