MFA for Educators

Engage your students with the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, to illustrate themes and concepts in any discipline.

Art as History

The goal of this program is to introduce artworks and museum holdings from the MFA collection as a means for students to identify, describe, and evaluate evidence about events from diverse sources.  At the conclusion of the program/lesson students should be able to use basic object information and visual thinking strategies to place the items within the larger construct of US history.  The tangible and unique holdings of the MFA provide non-traditional  way to engage students on the diverse topics of US history.
