Animals in Art

2nd visit: MFA

 

 Topic of the visit: Animals in the Egyptian, American and European Collection.

Project: Draw in a black paper with white pencil. The AA Instructors will teach the students how to create the idea of volume (3D) in a paper.Galleries: Egyptian (Sekhmet, amulets), Folk Gallery(Rooster Weathervane, Pig Carrusell, etc) and European (animals porcelain for 1st grade)

 

The Museum is full of Animals. Let's go see how many we can find and learn a little bit about them. Let's explore!

 

 

 

-We will look for "Animals" in paintings and sculptures throughout the Museum.

-We will talk about how animals inspired artists from all over the world; and, how the artists portrayed them in their work.

-We will talk about different kinds of animals, what they look and sound like, where they live, and more fun facts!
