Pithos wall, imperfectly burnt (black within, between two layers of dull red). Zigzag and triangles impressed on outside. Very thick and clumsy.

From Assos (Behramkale, Turkey); picked up in lower town during first year. 1881: excavated by the Archaeological Institute of America; gift of the Archaeological Institute of America to MFA, January 15, 1884.
