Faience palace tile/inlay depicting captive Nubian chief with wrists bound in front; attributes include black skin, cream kilt with brown, and reddish gray details and blue garment across shoulders and chest; remnants of light blue background; head, left foot, and upper part of one leg missing.
Said to be from Medinet Habu, Palace of Ramesses III. 1903: purchased for the MFA from Mohamed Mohassib, Luxor, Egypt by Albert M. Lythgoe as part of a group (including 03.1566-03.1577; 03.1578a-i) for £300. Acquired with funds from the Emily Esther Sears Fund. (Accession Date: January 1, 1903)
