Tall shouldered jar

The alabaster is fine-grained. It is red-veined. There are horizontal narrow bands of opaque white. The base is flat, and the rim is rolled and everted. The handles are modeled on the shoulders. It was drilled with a borer. The rim has a couple of very small chips. It is complete.

From Mesaid tomb 229 [M/229/3] (Mesa'eed) 1910: Excavated by the Harvard University–Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Egypt.
