This string of beads is comprised of forty-five amethyst barrel beads. It is from the neck of a body.(See group 21.970; 21.972-985).

Provenance

From Egypt, Naga el-Deir, tomb N 453 b. 1904: excavated by George Reisner for the Hearst Expedition of the University of California (which became the Harvard University-Museum of Fine Arts Expedition in 1905); 1921: assigned to the MFA by the government of Egypt. (Accession Date: January 1, 1921)
