This is a string of eighty-three highly polished beads: seventy-six small barrel, ring and biconical beads; four large barrel beads and three large ball beads.


From Tell Dafana (Daphnae). Excavated by the Egypt Exploration Fund; assigned to the Egypt Exploration Fund by the government of Egypt; 1887: given to the MFA by the Egypt Exploration Fund. (Accession Date: January 1, 1887)

Overall: 45 cm (17 11/16 in.) Diameter and length of the seventy-six smaller beads described: 0.2 x 0.4 cm (1/16 x 3/16 in.) Diameter and length of four barrel beads: 0.6 x 1 cm (1/4 x 3/8 in.) Diameter of three ball beads: 1.1 cm (7/16 in.)
