String of beads

This is a string of beads made of thirty carnellian beads (twenty-eight large with one hippo head pendant and one small hippo head), one amethyst pendant, two garnet ball beads, one garnet barrel bead, and one faience narrow cylindrical bead.

Provenance

From Egypt, Abydos, tomb D 93. 1901: excavated by William Matthew Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund, assigned to the Egypt Exploration Fund in the division of finds by the government of Egypt, received by the MFA through subscription to the Egypt Exploration Fund. (Accession Date: August 1, 1901)
