This statuette shows the funerary god Osiris standing on a rectangular base, holding the crook and flail. THe stone is probably steatite, and the figure retains traces of its original gilding.
Found with the shrine of Ptah, Tell Gemayemi. 1887: excavated by William Matthew Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund, assigned to the EEF by the Egyptian government; presented to the MFA at EEF fifth annual general meeting; sent over June 1, 1887. (Accession date: June 1, 1887)
