Said to come from a recent hoard found in Cilicia; by 1949: with Münzen und Medaillen A.G., Freiestrasse 103, Basel, Switzerland (Auktion 8, December 8-10, 1949, Gelben Saal des Stadtcasinos, Barfüsserplatz, Basel, lot 855); purchased at Münzen und Medaillen Auktion 8 by MFA, December 1949 (total purchase price for MFA 49.1902-49.1907 = $ 2,574.75) .
