Squat alabastron with three handles

Angular squat alabastron with three horizontal handles, convex bottom. Brown on buff; concentric bands around body with "multiple stem and tongue pattern" in handle band. Neck and handles brown. Furumark MP, p. 44, fig. 12, no. 94; motif 19, 35-38 (p. 299)

Provenance

Said to have been found near Tanagra in Boiotia; by 1963: with Theodoros Zoumboulakis in Athens; by 1964: with Byron Th. Zoumboulakis, 8 Place de la Taconnerie, Geneva, Switzerland; purchased by MFA from Byron Th. Zoumboulakis, June 8, 1964
