The design on the oval bezel is that of the winged god, Apedemek. Acc. to Dunham, it was found in a Kushite layer. Stylistically, it appears Meroitic.

Provenance

From Semna, tomb S 707. March 1924: excavated by the Harvard University-Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
