Ring with Herakles

Start collecting

On the bezel in intaglio, Herakles walks to the left, carrying his lion's skin on the left shoulder and his club in his left hand. In the extended right he holds a skyphos. Most of the ring broken away. Dark green patina.


By date unknown: with Edward Perry Warren (according to Warren's records: Bought in Athens.); purchased by MFA from Edward Perry Warren, December, 1901
