This is a fragment of leg, ankle and upper foot of the advancing right foot with the negative space behind it from a medium-sized statue. The stone is black granodiorite with many large white inclusions. GD1.

From Nubia (Sudan), Kerma, K IV grave K 405 debris. 1913: Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
