Relief with offering bearers from the tomb of Ankhu

Fragment of a relief from the wall of a tomb chapel, showing four offering bearers moving toward a now-missing figure of the deceased official Ankhu. The inscription, in nine columns above the figures, describes events in Ankhu's career under Senwosret III and Amenemhat III.

Provenance

By 1971: with P.G. Sier, Hilversheim, Holland; purchased from P.G. Sier November 10, 1971 (said to be from the Fayum).
